Join Rogue Machine Theatre for a rare opportunity to spend an afternoon with acclaimed playwright Will Arbery, whose groundbreaking plays have made him one of the most important voices in contemporary American theatre. Rogue Machine has proudly produced two of Arbery's works: Heroes of the Fourth Turning (2023) and Evanston Salt Costs Climbing (2025).

 

This special event celebrates our ongoing artistic relationship and collaboration between director Guillermo Cienfuegos and playwright Will Arbery, while helping support Rogue Machine's future productions and programs.

For the VIP ticket holders, the afternoon begins at 1:30PM with a light lunch at Theia, the restaurant next door to The Matrix Theatre. There, guests will have the opportunity to mingle with Will Arbery, Artistic Director Guillermo Cienfuegos, and cast members from our award-winning productions.

Following the reception, guests will join the General Admission ticket holders for a reading of Arbery's surreal comedy Plano. Equal parts funny, surprising, and deeply moving, Plano offers another example of Arbery's remarkable ability to illuminate the complexities of contemporary American life with empathy, intelligence, and humor.
