No Boundaries Productions present
GIRL BLUE
by June Carryl
Directed by Michael Matthews
When: Monday, Dec 15 at 7PM
Where: The Matrix Theatre, MainStage
What: A fundraiser for a new play hosted by Rogue Machine Theatre
One moment it’s 1968 and Nina Simone, at the height of her political and artistic powers, is about to shake things up at L.A.'s iconic Troubadour nightclub. The next it's 1977 and she's holed up in an Airport Ramada Inn outside Manhattan, desperate to cancel a show at Carnegie Hall.
Over the next 40 minutes, through a selection of songs and monologues we watch this once defiant voice alternate time lines as she battles her demons, personal and political.
No Boundaries Theatrical Productions present a fundraiser reading for GIRL BLUE, a new world premiere written and performed by June Carryl. All profits from the box office go directly to No Boundaries Theatrical Production to help fund their future production of this play in London.
THIS IS NOT A ROGUE MACHINE THEATRE FUNDRAISER. Rogue Machine Theatre supports No Boundaries Theatrical Productions by hosting the event.
